Default Nissan Navigation System, Tech. advice!

I'm trying to find a way to input destinations into my factory while driving. I'm pretty sure its just a wire that inputs either a logic 1 or 0 to tell the unit when the car is in motion... anyone have any schematics?

Does anyone know the hardware company that makes the DVD nav. system?

Can you explain further how this bypass unit works? Do I use the same software, or do I load new software?

This allows the VSS to remain bypass while you are inputting data. However, when you are done messing with the navi it will automatically switch back to the normal mode. Please keep in mind that whenever the VSS is bypassed that navigation position will be incorrect, your MPG calculations will lose accuracy, and your maintenance warnings will not have mileage added to them.

To trigger the Aux output you must hold the ‘OK’ button down for >1s, release it, then quickly press and release the button a 2nd time. This prevents any accidental triggering of the output.

To program the module you must hold the ‘OK’ button down for ~10 seconds. When the button has been held down long enough the AUX output will strobe on and off 4 times (you can hear the relay click on/off if it is hooked up). You can then release the ‘OK’ button. Each time you press the ‘OK’ button it will increment the mode by one, and the output will turn on/off the respected amount of times (once for mode 1, twice for mode 2, three times for mode 3). When your desired mode is selected you then must wait ~10 seconds for the module to time out of programming mode. The programming value will be stored in EEProm memory meaning that it will retain its value even if the battery is disconnected or dies.

We also made a small change to the firmware the runs the module. The module has an adjustable output that ranges between 0-30S by turning a small **** on the top of the module. By using an exclusive new output technology we were able to make 'tuning' the module almost instant and full proof.
It's just a module that bypasses the vss (vehicle speed sensor.) It's activated by holding the "OK" button down for >1 sec and the quickly pressing it again.

This module will also "press" the OK button for you when starting your car. It's actually a pretty easy install as long as you comfortable with a soldering gun.

Thanks a lot, I was confused by Vss because I usually hear Vss referred to as a source voltage for transistors! But I am handy with a soldering gun and it looks like a simple install. Did you do it to yours? If so, how did it turn out?

VSS = vehicle speed sensor

There is wire that goes to the back of the navi unit that carries a squarewave with a frequency that represents vehicle speed. If you cut the wire, there are some side effects, so you can't just cut it and leave it cut. You must only break the signal when you want to program while driving.
