Default Zenclosure 1 10" or 2 10"s?

I'm in a bit of a pickle. I'm getting a Zenclosure just not sure if to get the 1 10" or the 2 10"s!

Here is my setup

Alpine w205 with a Alpine V-Power 400W Mono MOSFET Amp.

Here is my thing I only have about $250 for subs! So what should I do go with a JL 10 single or two alpine 10" subs?

why not get the single 12" zenclosures

if not the 2 each 10" over the single 10"

$ 250 is only a pickle if you need it to have a JL label

$ 250 is enough bread to get 2 each sweet subs shipped to your door

1- each 12"
or 2 each 10"
not 1 10"

I don't see your $250 to spend on subs a problem, I feel the problem is in the 400RMS watts. Is that at 4ohms? can the amp be safely bridged to 2ohms and what is it rated at 2ohms? If 400RMS is the most power you can get from your amp, then go with 1 GOOD 10". If you can get 800RMS out of it, go with 2 10". There are better and cheaper options than both the JL and Alpine subs you speak of.

What's your goal for bass?
What type of music do you listen to?
What is your front stage consisting of (speakers and watts)?

# 600W peak output @ 4 ohms, bridged
# 400W RMS (continuous) x 1 @ 2 ohms, 14.4V, 20Hz - 20kHz, 1% THD
# 220W RMS (continuous) x 1 @ 4 ohms, 14.4V, 20Hz - 20kHz, 1% THD

Definitely do two 10"s. 1 10" isnt enough if you are even thinking JL.

you can have the JL 10w3 1 each 10"
you can choose whether we are gonna do sealed or ported enclosures
you can choose the amps we will use

i will take the 2 each alpine 10"s

mine will be louder

20 " of cone over 10" of cone same watts

no brainer dude
