Hey guys, Im about to order all my audio parts and needed some last-minute information. Here is what I was thinking:

For the front

This comes w/ a 4" also, which Im thinking I will mount in a kickpanel. Is there any difference in the 6003Q and the 6002Q other than the lack of 4" in the 60002Q? Will the door speakers be able to clear the front windows w/ a mounting depth of 1 7/8"? If not, what spacers do I need?


For the back

And of course, I will need an amp. I'm still researching those. Any suggestions? Any problems I might run into? Does this look like a good hard-hitting setup with good imaging? I just want as many opinions as possible before I drop a load of money into sound equipment. Thanks.

PS- Yes, I have an aftermarket headunit (Kenwood 7019) and plan on putting fatmat on the entire interior in preparation for some serious subwoofers sometime over the summer.

 

You'll have no problem fitting those inside the stock location. My Boston Pro 6.5s have a 2-3/8" mounting depth.

As far as amp, how much do you want to spend?

 

Thanks for the reply. As far as an amp, I really have no budget, but don't want to spend an outrageous amount of money. I was considering turning my 50x4 headunit into a 100x2 and powering the rear-speakers with that, even though I will also need another small 100amp for those. Then that leaves the front. With 200watts RMS, Im gonna need a nice amp. Suggestions?

 

Assuming you will be running a seperate amp for the sub(s), I'd still go with a 4 channel and just power all the speakers. I personally like amps from the following companies:

Arc Audio
JL Audio
McIntosh
Memphis
Pheonix Gold
Precision Power Inc (PPI)
xtant
zapco

For a smaller sized decent priced amp go with JL Audio, PPI, Pheonix Gold.

For a more expensive (more options, cleaner power) amps go with xtant, zapco, arc, or McIntosh.

You can expect to pay for any of these as little as $600 (maybe cheaper - not too sure) to well over $1k.

I'd also rather have super clean power from an xtant rated at 75x4 at 4ohms (X604 for example) then something like a sony (or put any other low priced amp here) amp rated at 200x4. Sure I'll pay more but it will sound better .

 

Thanks for the help. If I go with the 6002Q with only 200watts RMS, and the rear speakers have I think 120watts RMS, I need amp help. I am going with the JL Audio series. Should the 300/4 be fine or do I need to step up to the 450/4? I want the best sound, price is of little concern. Thank you.

 

OK, I really need some amp help, these are confusing me bc they all look like the same as long as the power rating and signal/noise is the same. What about this one, sticking with the audiobahn theme?
