Bose question
Ok ive searched through 12 pages of bose = blows crap and i still havent seem to find my anwser. I bought an 04 Roadser with the bose package...I was told the original owner replaced all the speakers with aftermarket. With the bose HU it works fine but when i try to install my Jensen Double DIN i get no sound? Do i have to bypass the amp and run individual wires to each speaker like Circuit city is telling me?
I'd pop a speaker cover off....Bose uses different stuff that virtually everyone else....there is a brand "Clearwater" that makes "bose replacement" speakers for Miata's....But I don't know of any others(doesn't mean it doesn't exist) 350z replacements that will work with the Bose Amps...
I have a feeling the speakers didn't get swapped....but I could be wrong.
You can get a thing called a "cleansweep" think its JBL, or JL can't rememeber which. It allows you to keep stock HU (incl. bose) and swap out everything else....
But to change HU on a bose car, yes you have to bypass Bose amps.

I installed an Alpine HU, and some speakers in my boss' Nissan hardbody p/u it had Bose stock, and I DID NOT run speaker wire...I bypassed the Bose amps, and I think I bought a part that actually bypassed it via wiring. I tossed the amps in the trash.
the Z could be different, but http://www.crutchfield.com/S-7RM8Ocm...car/mycar.aspx
view installation gear....I think that harness takes care of it all...someone else needs to respond.
