Default LCD and DVD Install Question?

Hey Guys,

I have a quick question and could use your help, I've looked all over the place and can't find an answer.

I am installing a Farenheit 7001 tonight and I installed a DVD player (not an in-dash player, I am puting it behind the passanger seat in the glove box)last night and my question is about hardwiring the power for these two devices. For the DVD it came with a cigerette lighter adapter and a wire for hardwiring the power. What I did was take the pos and neg wires and spliced them on to the pos and neg of the acc outlet. Do you guys think thats an okay way to do it or should I do something else, btw for the hardwire on the DVD it has a black plastic box in the wire with a fuse in it.

What should I do for the monitor tonight? I was thinking of doing the same thing except for on the power wires for the head unit.

Good or Bad Ideas, please help.

Thanks - Feenix

That's how I did mine. The DVD player in the mailbox slot is hardwired into the cig. lighter. I did this by simply pulling it out and tapping into the wires.

My Xenarc screen is wired into the hot wire and the ground wire to the stock head unit.

I did it that way because I have a PC and the screen will always have power when the key is turned. In your application, your screen would be on all the time even when you aren't playing a DVD. Not sure if you would want it that way.

Sweet! Thanks Bonz. Thought I had the right idea, just wondering if someone had been down that road before.
