Default Faceplate to hide Nav?

There have been a number of recent threads which mentioned stolen aftermarket Nav units. As the new owner of a Kenwood 7100, living in L.A., I'm wondering how to hide the screen in order to minimize the odds of some skel doing a smash-n-grab job, leaving me w/ a broken window, a ripped up console, and no Nav.

Has anyone seen a faceplate to cover the Nav screen when the car is parked on the street? Maybe somthing that simulates a cheap oem radio?

Any ideas?

Thx.

Search through gt3's threads. He did something like covering his aftermarket receiver with the face of the OEM radio (or something like that).

Great idea. And great execution.

Anyone know if something like that faux faceplate is available commercially? Or maybe we can convince gt3 to start a side business manufacturing them for Z community

Just go on Ebay, and buy a used Nissan single-cd from an older 350z. There not going for much, maybe find one that is broken, it will go cheaper. Just remove the front faceplate, then remove the faceplate subpanel electronic board, about six crews, only takes few minutes to complete. You can also cut-off some of the outer plastic trimming to make it more flushed. Really easy to do.
