Default Quick Question

Hey hey whats up everybody. I was just sitting out in my car for a little while prewiring some stuff before I start my install this weekend. I hooked up 3 RCA's and a Remote wire. As a remote, I saw a blue/white wire that had a tag on it that said REMOTE, but it was already hooked up into the harness. There was a lone blue wire that I had taped off previously, so my initial thought was that it was the amp remote. I hooked it up and now I'm testing it. I'm using a voltmeter, should I be able to see power through the remote wire when the car is on???

I'm not getting a reading at all, so I'm thinking I hooked it up to the wrong wire....

If needed, I can pull it out and take pictures.

that's what I was thinking, looks like I'll have to rip the dash back out and take some pics. Luckily I didn't put everything back together completely yet
