no its the high quality plastic peeling off for some reason

I wanted to make sure I did everything right the 1st time (also first car audio install), took about 5hrs (including running the GPS antenna to the rear and ipod cable)

if so how do the speakers sound now? worse?

no not the bose, I have already upgraded the rear speakers b/c they blew though, too some "alpine type s", and yes it does sound bad with stock speakers, reason being, too much power going to some terrible clarion stock speakers.

put mine under the center console. Signal is perfect but i still use my oem navi. Reason why i didn't put it anywhere else is because i hate how those antennas look if visable.

the antenna can even go through plastic. Tint is not going to affect the reception. As long as there is no metal in the way, you are good.
