I use mine with an iPod classic. Works fine.

Video out may not work on the iPod touch and iPhone with the newest apple firmware. May want to check that out.

So many D3 posts and thread topics... Is there something about the avic z1 that I don't know about. Did I buy the wrong headunit....?

Absolutely nothing wrong with the D2, alot of people get the D3 for the stock look, the all-around functionality and the price. The D2 flips out and some people actually like this. I like both but I prefer the D3 mostly for the price.
