Sirius radio into cubby hole
I just got a sirius satellite radio and want to have it installed in the cubby hole above the stock radio. I'm assuming the guy installing it (circut city) will have to drill a hole in the cubby to fish the wires thru. I've searched around but I'm not too familiar with stereo stuff, so my question is this:
- Will the installer damage the "firewall" i've read about? Will he be messing with this at all?
- Does anybody have their satellite radio installed in the cubby and have any advice or tips I can give to the installer.
-Which interior panels will he have to remove? I know the center console, but any others? I am VERY paranoid about this.
Thanks for your help guys, I appreciate it. I'm glad to FINALLY have a Z and be part of the community.

First i would prolly find another shop other than suckit city to put it in. Im sure that some circuit cities do good work, but the install i had them do on my first car was the last. I see your from indianapolis, im sure someone in the midwest forum can direct you to a good shop.
1. as for the firewall they wont even have to go near that
2. I installed mine under the little white box in the dash and ran the signal wire up through the dash and have it sitting right below the windshield. I dont have any problems with reception and it doesnt stand out and i still have my cubby
3. the only thing they will have to take apart is the dash holding the radio. its a little more intensive in the z than some other cars to get the radio out, but its still no big deal
ps. welcome to the community
