Default Answer to the restrictive front speaker covers

Anyone that's looked at their front speakers before has noticed the restricted, only about half open speaker cover. Well, since I upgraded my speakers, I thought of ways to get most of the sound out.

Tools:
Cordless Drill
1/16 drill bit
a steady hand
lots of patience
vacuum

Took me 50 minutes to do the one. I still have to go over it with a pin and clean out every hole . Hopefully, this will result in more sound coming from the speaker.

The stock restrictive speaker cover

Yes, the snow gives me extra time, but depression goes along with it .

Greg that's what I originally though about, but I don't really like the fabric look. My preference might change and I might end up doing it later down the road, we'll see.

Where can I find the speaker grill material tho?

Wow both look great (drill bits and the cloth). So tedious, though..

Q: Speakers come with their own grills, right? Will those not work (probably won't fit the contours of the door - wow that sucks)..?
Wow why would they have that blocked from the factory..

MustGoFaster - I read your cloth post. I think both jobs look fine and do the trick. I can probably handle either, but with my luck I would F*ck something up.
Are you still considering doing the speakers for $35?

damn! wished I had seen this thread earlier. I dremel-ed the right side and was going cloth, but probably would prefer this method instead.
