i've done my front in the black speaker cloth method. they look and sound awesome. As mentioned the drilling method is far more difficult and time-consuming. Also, i'm not sure how clean the holes will look. let us know when you finish.

FYI: the front speaker grills do in fact obstruct sound. try take both stock grills out and listen to music, and then put them back in to compare. they sound much better with the grills removed.

I did the drilling on the stock speaker grilles and I can say it was worth it. I used a 1mm drill and although it was pain in the *** to do it, if you are careful and patient enough you can do it without harming the appearance of the grilles. As for the result, although it does not sounds as good as without the grilles, it is a good improvement compared to the stupid restrictive stock grilles!!
