BEST way to hook up NAV voice??????
Can anyone tell me what is the BEST way to get NAV voice to work in a Track model after installing an after-market head unit (alpine)??? I've read "onecoolee's" instruction on the matter and even bought all necessary parts (for HIS hook-up). But the wiring (codes) is a little confusing. Is there a better way or can somebody explain his wiring colors to me?

Firstly, I did not hook up the mute function, because thats the only part of the voice system I don't like, so I have nav voice, but no radio mute.
The nav harness is the brown plug going into the stock headunit.
It has 4 wires, and this is what they do:
For the mute function:
Black/Pink - Navi Earth
Red/Black - Navi On
For the voice function:
White/Black - Speaker -
Blue/Black - Speaker +
I just hooked a cheap 3.5" speaker up under the passender side dash to the speaker - and + wires and have the nav voice. Its not super loud, but loud enough for me.
You can use SKidazzles or Onecoolees instructions and the wire code above to figure out the mute.
Originally, I kept the headunit and ran new speakers amps and sub, but just changed out last week. I'm runnind a CLarion DXZ835MP AM/FM/CD/MP3 I got off ebay for 250 vs. the 399 price at crutchfield, and it sounds so much better than the stock headunit (plus it plays mp3/wma files!)
