Default Swapping Bose headunit

I dont know a damn thing about audio...but my bose right channel/sub is cutting out like crazy.

If i buy another bose HU(from the Classifieds of course), will it work or am I going to have to get it reprogrammed at a dealer or something?

Im just looking for a relatively cheap fix, i dont mind the bose when i have my ipod hooked up to it.

Not a problem man

BTW, if you get on 04 (black face), you can swap your 03 face on it and it will work fine. It happened to me hehe.

That's really your best bet. I had two 03s crap out on me and the one from the 04 worked for well over a year and I had zero issues with it.

Anyone swap a 2006-2007 Bose head unit (MP3 capable), into a 2003-2005 equipped with the Bose system? I want to add MP3 CD capability and keep the stock look.

Thanks,

Pete

The wiring is different IIRC. If you really wanted to, you could splice the 06-07 harness into the 03-05 harness.

I think the HU/console is a different shape in the 06+, it won't fit right. Im sure you could make it work but it's not the same.
