Would my system hit harder if the box was bolted to a ridgid false floor?

Lightbulb Would my system hit harder if the box was bolted to a ridgid false floor?

I have two Rockford Fosgate P3 12" in a custom sealed box at the rear of the trunk. Obviously, the woofers face up toward the deck lid. When I was running a test tone CD to find resonances, @ about 20-30 Hz I noticed the the whole box was bouncing up and down on the cheap lid that covers the spare tire.

If I were to fabricate a ridgid false floor and bolt it down to the body, then bolt the box to it, would the lows hit harder? Please know what you are talking about.

I had a custom box in the direct back with 2 p3 12's also like youm facing upwards, I did not have the rattling issue but from what I found in getting a box that faces backwards it gave better sound quality and I was able to hit more notes more clearly. Sorry it doesn't answer the question about bolting it down. It's just that I think having 2 10's was too small so I wanted 12's as you did and when faced backwards the sound quality and notes hti was much smoother. This is the box I have for 2 12's in case you would like to see it:

You mean you only want knowledgeable people to answer your question? Now you're asking for a lot!!!

But I agree with 350zspl here. it's all about energy. The more solid you can make the enclosure and all surrounding/reflecting surfaces will help make for a harder hitting/cleaner sounding sub stage.

I bought this off another Z member, but it was made by the famous Mike at Zenclosures. I spoke with him a few times over the phone about this box and he may start mass production of it sometime soon, but this is currently he only one ever produced... for those of us would would prefer 12's to 10s!

Thanks spl350z-always right there with teh experience. Anyway, what's the airspace on that enclosure? The only way I could get close to a cube net per chamber was with the woofers facing up and the enclosure running the length of the trunk. Not to mention the mounting ring hieght and room for woofer excursion with that damn wiper motor hump in the way.
