Default New to building audio. Could use some help.

Whats up guys,

I just purchased my 2006 350z a month ago, I am happy with everything but the stock sound system. Since I have a base, I thought I would get a different head unit anyway. Can you guys help me out and tell me if this plan seems okay.

I am looking to buy AVIC D3 Pioneer Navigation Unit. I will purchase this off of Amazon for roughly 590. After this I would like to add some type of enclosure, subs, and an amp.

I want to have 1 quality sub, what type of amp, and size of amp would be reccomended for just one sub. When I went to Tweeter their JL 500 amp was 549 bucks. for some reason that sounded very high.

I will add the other components as time goes on, for now I just want to start on the headunit and subs.

Thanks for any help.

I am in the same boat as you, but my is a 2008 base. I replaced the head unit and speakers. I got the avic D3 its a bad *** head unit especially for the money, but make sure you get a Ipod connector because you need to keep the nav CD in there to make it work.

Most people use the Bose sub location behind the drivers side to hide amps... plenty of space back there.

Thanks alot, I will end up putting the amp back there. I have almost sealed the deal. I am going to be purchasing from Wicked Cas the Corner Box and a JLw3v3 to go along. I know JL's amps are extremely expensive, can someone please reccomend a amp that will make the sub sound good, that is still pretty inexpensive? Thanks

thanks for the reply but I dont understand what you mean. I found the elmental designs site but you said both the ed nine 2x and the nine 1? I'm so new at this audio stuff. Wouldnt one amp be suitable for 1 sub?

okay... so the more watts the amp is the better the sub will sound...correct? I dont know how much watts the JLw3v3 will hold, but if I put the nine.2x with that one sub will it bump pretty hard?

What impedance W3 are you getting? 2 or 4 ohm? If it's the 2ohm version, get this amp....it'll be perfect and is IMHO one of the best sub amps made:
