Not to hijack the thread but I bought some of Nazar's door pods the 06+ ones and I have had them on for a bout a week (love them btw) but at certain low frequencies the outer edges of the fiberglass pods will vibrate very audibly.

What do you guys (Bing and others who have installed these) use beyond the bolts nazar sends with the pods to get a super tight/flush fit? Should I be using some sort of sealent in addition to a strong/solid bolt pattern?

I called the local car toys here and they said they typically pour more bondo and resin in to the thin parts of the fiberglass and that typically will produce enough strength that the rattle goes away.

What do you guys think?

Thanks

During all my years with SQ competitions I always aim my speakers, mid and highs, for the dome light just behind your head. That way I have been able to obtain accurate sound stage. Really easy if you use a laser pointer.

You can try to install some Dynamat on the insideof the pods.
That will probably make a difference.
I always use some type of Dynamat on all my fiberglass panels, spray or mat.

The speaker grill is cusom made by a friends CNC shop. I have the same design for my subs behind the seats.

This will be redone as I have other plans to redo the complete doorpanel and integrate the pod into the design.
Pretty cool but too much for me. Looks like a space ship or something.

The ones the OP has are made from a high density foam, no rattle and produce a nice tone.

You might try some weather stipping to the back edge of the pods, thats my plans when I install Nazars Pods.

Ya, its a density 6 foam. So, its rigid, but there is no rattle and creates a nice tone. The piece has a wall between 1/2-1" Its also extrememly light.
