After searching with no luck. I need some suggestions on a set of good SQ speakers. I plan on running door pods if they fit a 2008, my music pref is rap/r&b, and my price range is 300-500. Thanks.
I'm running a set of SEAS for the front stage, couldn't be happier. They bring out all of the details of the recordings, good and bad. So better quality recordings will sound better than compressed formats.

Rap and SQ do not go together. You will smoke the mids with square waves. You might as well buy something cheap enough that you can replace it when it gives up.

ive had Diamond D662's which are pretty much entry level comps and a Aura 3" mid on the A-pillar, I just couldnt say that i have ever been able to achieve "great sq" when it comes to Rnb/Rap on mp3 especially, every other genre seems to sound crisp.
and i agree with ahsmo, ive blown Diamond HEX's, DLS UP6's and now im on these 662's, we will see how long they serve me.

If you spend 600 dollars on speakers or 150 dollars on speakers, you will not hear a difference given your genre preferences. Given your genre preference, most individuals who listen to this type of music tend to blow speakers left and right.
That said, the right speakers in the wrong install is a waste of money as well. Door pods are a great start but they are not perfect.
I have found that just able all Alpine speakers are relatively durable and cheap. Boston Acoustics makes some very durable and nice speakers.

They fit your stated budget, have great midrange, adequate bass, and a nice tweeter. I tried a few speakers and like Focals best in the Z.

+1 on Focal or Diamond, also add CDT to your short list.
And a HUGE +1000000 on people blowing speakers by not planning/tuning their systems correctly. Especially blaming "the music genre" as the cause. Truth is, classical music can be more taxing on a system than hip-hop/r&b/pop music. It is way more dynamic, way more transients, has a MUCH more spread spectrum of frequencies (often dipping into the mid-teen Hz range and up to 30kHz).

Nice component choice! This would be a great amp for those components which want only 80watts rms.....
Boston Acoustics GT22 (this would be my choice)

Or this one
Zapco REF350.2

Or this one
Audison LRX 2.150

OK I got listen to a set focals, and I like them allot. So I ordered those and the Boston amp. The guy who owns the speakers even agreed that the Boston amp is a good choice. So the last question I have for everyone is what is a good amp and speaker install kit? (too many to chose from). Thank you
