i am installing a new audio system in my Z and one of the replacements was the antenna.

I replaced the stock one with a shorty antenna, but now the reception really sucks. stations that i used to be able to get are no longer available.

i am considering putting the old stock antenna back on since the reception is so bad........but the new one looks so much more sweet!

does anyone have any ideas on how to better the reception so that i won't have to put the stock one back on.

also....... i've got a 7" screen in the stock nav. area and the quality while watching DVD is great. but when i put in a CD or listen to the radio and the little menu mode comes on---it seems to flicker a lot and there seems to be a few waves in the screen. nothing too major, i can live with it, but any ideas on how to fix that would be great too.

put the old one in(it screws in and out still right) and test it, see if you get a station that you didnt get before. just to be sure its the antenna and not something else.

otherwise not sure what you could change...
