Well I just spent 2pm untill 9pm installing my new Hertz HSK 6.5" components. I am running them off of my Kenwood DDX7019 headunit and a Audison LRX 2.250.
I dynamatted the entire door skins and put Teklite4 on the inner door skin. I am still getting rattles on the plastic panels and rattles in the headliner. I think I am going to have the shop dynamat the roof when they suede the headliner.

Anyways....

OMG!!!!! These are the best speakers I have ever heard, granted the amp is the shiznit. But how clear and warm and powerfull the speakers are. I turned the sub off and could barley tell (well kind of) but the mid bass and clarity and lifelike reproduction is unbelievable. I highly reccomend these speakers, they blew away any boston/mb quart/eclipse/focal I have ever heard. I wish I had the amp power and cash flow to try the MLK series...but maybe next paycheck. I dont know if any other members run these but go get them. Luckily my boy owns a shop so I got them for 320 out the door.

I got them for 320..I think 450 is the normal price.

BTW. Listening to them for 1 hour with the door panels off and then 1 hour with the door panels on. I am ordering NAZAR door pods tomorrow. It is REDICULOUS how they suck the sound out of the speakers...granted they still sound great but the door pods will bring back what was lost by the door panels.

Plus I am wrapping them in suede to match the headliner/shiftboot/sub box/A-pillars. I am suede crazy!!!!!!!!

 

yeah hertz is good stuff, the HSK IMO though, isnt THAT great, its about comparable to other high end manufacatuers offerings in thta price range, i have done a few of the MLKs, now those are a different story hehe...

try throwing them in a better locatoin than stock, and they will sound even better

 

Thats what I am doing...ordering the nazar door pods today and going to install them there, then from there I will see if I want to upgrade to the mlk.

my theory is...if I was in a cadillac I would buy the mlks because I could enjoy them more, but I am in a 350z with 275mm wide tires, exhaust, and soon to be supercharger...so I thing the extra 400 dollars in price would be a loss for me.

Keep hearing good things about Hertz, if my Polks blow I might have to decide between those and DLS.

 

We will be looking into becoming a dealer for Hertz, keep an eye out for some my350z member specials.

nazar I was super busy today I will call u tomorrow to order. Do I mount the speakers directly to the fiberglass or should I make a wooden spacer to make better sound quality?

Also should I dynamatt everything inside of the pod i want the most midbass I can get
