Hey guys,
After having read some of the threads on the Kenwood KOS system I decided to go that route. I recently spoke with Spike regarding some of the items and decided to buy the DDX812, KNA-G510 (Navi), and the KOS L702 monitor. All i have to do is buy the V500 though i think i may just go for the V1000 for about $70 more.
As soon as i get home in July, i will plan my execution on this installation. Initially i will just install the HU, V500/1000, and Navi. I bought an extra 07 cubby due to everyone saying it has a smaller cabinet than the 03, so i know it may have to be modified. What i will do, is either try something myself or i will just find a prof who i can send the cubby and monitor to, to see if they can fabricate something. Once i find out what it takes i will definitely post it, unless someone beats me to it
.
What i do have a question about are the speakers i have. I originally bought MB quart RCE 215's in 05 for my 04 Z, but i never installed them. They are brand new, but understanding tech has changed a little, i wonder if they maybe a little out dated. I do not plan on installing a sub / amp just yet. I want to take this slowly to make sure i do it right.
The 215's are 6.5's components 2 ways. I believe they are 65 watts but not sure of the RMS. Originally i was contemplating a full kenwood set up, but after looking, the Alpine speaker/amp was a better choice for me for my budget, plus even though Kenwood makes great components I think Alpine has better speaker and amp selection. My preference
...
So anyway..long thread and probably didnt make any sense
but wanted your input on what you thought.
