Hmmmmm... well, I do notice sometimes (not all the time) that the volume slightly decreases when I slow to a stop at signals, but I just figured that was what it was supposed to do? My Cousin had a stereo in her car a few years ago that advertised that feature. The sound is not too bad in my Z. I am not the type that likes to "feel" my music so either I just don't play my stereo as loud as most people, or mine is one of the new models with the problem fixed. Either way, I am happy with the BOSE system in my car.

I just called Nissan Customer Service and they do not know of any recalls or any problems with the Bose audio system. I was told to go to the dealer and have them check it and ship it to Bose to be fixed. It sounds like they have no intentions of doing anything about the Bose system and we are stuck going to our dealers. I going to copy the e-mails from Bose again and give it to the dealer and tell them I want something done.

I do know that Bose has tweaked the systems since, so maybe your is one of those.

I've had my car for a little over a week. I too have the sound around 80% to the rear, and there is still no bass.

I called Bose @ 800-231-2673 and talked to a guy who said that Bose was well aware of the problem with the 350Z. I would call and get my name on their list and keep bugging them until they do something.

Ok all.. here is the latest and it is not sounding great......

Nissan is going to send out a customer satisfaction questionaire in conjunction with Bose IN OCTOBER. ACCCK!!! From that, selected VIN's that fall within a certain gap, especially those that have already had the TSB done for the amp, will then have the "tweaks" performed.

It doesn't sound as promising as it originally started out as. But, I have waited a year, whats another 2 months....

I did espress my displeasure at this latest response for what it is worth. I know I will never have a vehicle with a BOSE system in it again. Nissan may lose a 7 time repeat customer as well.....

I talked to Nissan and Bose yesterday and was curious who is telling you this information. My dealer is in the black about this whole issue or doesn’t care.

Dealers will not be notified until Nissan releases the TSB's. That is after the questionaire junk.... My source is at Nissan... she has been very helpful.... too bad the whole company isn't like her.... The info above has not been publicly announced yet....

Give it up gang. Spend the money on a real sound system. Nothing Blows is going to do will make this thing right. Come on, It's Bose! Sory to be down on the situation, but it's reality. The only Bose fix out there is spending $$ on non-Bose componants. So happy mod-ing!

Is the low quality sound caused by the hu, speakers or both?

If problem is coaused by hu is it possible to just replace it with the aftermarket one or do the speakers need to go too?

To do it right, it all has to go.
Bose uses proprietary imepedances that prevent you from just dropping in another head unit, speakers or amps and having it sound good.

I heard that from a stereo place. You have to replace the whole system.

And yes Chris, the stereo drops in volume when you stop!

I am working on a personal battle with Bose and Nissan. I don't know if I'll get anywhere. But I will try. You guys up to signing petitions and S**t like that??? Are you all up for a fight to get something back for spending our money on an upgrade piece of S**T???

Check in here and with the Zchickz.com for future info. Lady Z

I say that Z ULAYDA is right we did pay a premium price for a piece of s**t from Bose and I will keep calling Bose until I get an answer that they will fix the problem. Just don’t stick us with another crappy Bose system.

1) Yes
2) No, but again I will sign any petition that y'all come up with related to this.

Once you get enough people to create a "critical mass" you should post a new thread with just "Sign petition to fix/replace/credit Bose stereo".

My guess is that critical mass would be 20+ people.
If you get that many to say yes here, we will all post/vote in another thread that will attract even more attention.

Dear Mr. (you can s**w yourself)

Thank you for your recent e-mail to Nissan North America, Inc. We apologize
for the delay in response.

We note file #4240163 has already been created to document this concern and
this matter has been resolved. If you have any further questions or
comments, please feel free to email me back or call 1-800-647-7261 (Nissan
Consumer Affairs).

Sincerely,

Steve P.
National Consumer Affairs
Nissan North America, Inc.

This is the e-mail I received today about the Bose problem and where are they coming from. I have never had anything done to my car and defiantly not the Bose audio system.
I had no choice when I bought the Touring package but to get the Bose audio system otherwise I would have bought the cheapest and replaced it like most cars that I have owned. If they won’t take responsibility for the audio system what about the other entire out sourced stuff Nissan uses. Do we have to contact a company in Japan because the radiator hose failed or all the other parts. They put us at a real disadvantage trying to wipe their hands clean with what ever this crap is that is coming out in October. I have contacted Nissan and Bose without any satisfaction so when I go to the dealer they do not know of anything to do. I have shown them the e-mails from Bose admitting that the system does not meet company standards and just look at me because they have nothing from Nissan telling them to replace anything.

I just called Nissan before I read this post to see if this "fix" is out yet? The rep I spoke to knows nothing about it. The only thing she referenced was the old TSB regarding the amp replacement. She knew nothing about this "meeting" with Bose and Nissan, nor that people are dissatisfied. I referred her to this site!

You just got the Nissan how to handle customer with Bose audio system run around and do nothing. We do not take any responsibility and it is your problem. Keep calling like I do and you will get some more crap. Today Nissan said they would contact my dealer and fix this problem. I call the dealer and they have no service bulletins related to what Nissan told them. It is called passing the buck until people give up.

Hey Z-Desperado! May I ask, what emails are you getting from Bose? Because its my understanding from Bose that they are aware of the issue and are waiting for their techs to solve it internally.

That is what I did called Nissan and Nissan called the dealer while I was on hold. When I talked to the Nissan rep he said to hang up and call the dealer to get this straighten out. I talked to the dealer’s service manager who was on the phone with the Nissan rep and he said there is no such bulletin and he would check it out and call back. So far I have not heard anything
