I got a letter from Nissan that said I can swap out the amp?
anybody do this?

My amp was swapped last thursday. It sounds MUCH better.... It is good enough now that i am ahppy..No..it doesn't match aftermarket audiophile's systems...but it works for me now...

My amp was swapped this am (Part 28060-CE400)....

Sounds the same to me... :-(

Still fairly underpowered. Maybe I have to drive it around for a while while the ECU adapts... :-)

I could be way off on this, but isn't the ECU specifically for running the engine? I don't think that the sound system of the Z is in any way controlled or monitored by the ECU.

Sorry to hear it sounds the same to you slaponte...........that is unusual............most people notice some difference, especially more bass. Maybe you should take a look at the amp to be sure they didn't mistakenly re-install the one they just took out.

I had my amp replaced yesterday at Courtesy Nissan with part number 28060-CE400. The bass flunction is gone as well as most all of the bass!!!!!!!

Still sounds crappy.
