Default DYI camera mount

Here's a couple of pics of the camera mount I built. I've been meaning to post this for a while but it kept slipping my mind. This is a derivation of one made by Lowfuel. Props to Lowfuel for this design as his original design is the basis for mine. Lowfuel, thanks for sharing.

It's made of 2 peices of angled differnt sized aluminum. Since I didn't have the ability to weld aluminum I opted for another method of connecting them by bolting the 2 pieces together. Not as stong as a weld but turns out it's durable enough for this application.

Here's an early autocross video from when I first used it:
In Cabin Video

It's a big file and requires Windows Media Player 9 or you only get sound.

I'll post the instructions and more pics when I get a chance to take more photos.

where can you buy the top part where you screw it in the bottom of the camera?? looks very inexpensive to make and easy to install.

I built a camera mount based on this design when it was first posted. The actual part that you are asking about is a mini-tripod that has the three legs that fold together. I found mine on E-Bay listed as a "Tripod Mini Lenmar". If you search on mini-tripods you will see others that will work. They look like this:
