Need help fast! Have headunit, need speakers
I have a Pioneer AVIC-D3 going into my car saturday. I just want some decent sounding upgrades for my STOCK LOCATIONS. I know they arent the best locations and are not going to give me the best sound but thats fine. Ive set a budget of $150-200 total for speakers for the front door and rear locations.
I really am an idiot when it comes to audio equipment, and I dont want to get ripped off by just going to some place and buying whatever they have for THEIR price. So you guys will really be helping me out. Thanks!

Try the Alpine SPS17-C 6.5's or the Infinity (forgot model number) basic 6.5's. they give out good sound,,,able to find at local shop and should be around your price range....just a suggestion...
I’m guessing, but I believe you are not planning an external amp at this time for your CES. And, your budget is tight (no problem with this).
If my premise is correct, you probably should buy a low-end speaker for the front. That is simply because a low-end speaker will deliver best performance when you use the built-in amp in your H/U. You will get better sound with this arrangement (low-end speaker with H/U’s built-in amp).
For inexpensive with good sound, I would go with Alpine or Kenwood 6.5” speakers in the front doors. You could get components, but coaxials for your price-point probably provides as good sound with a more simple installation.
Forget about the rears speakers. Just turn these speakers OFF (fade to zero). The rear OEM speakers in the Z are very cheap and will only pollute the sound. If you decide you want rears in the Z, get coaxials for this position. You cannot buy anything aftermarket that is lower quality than the OEM rear speakers, so you cannot miss here. But consider this; you don’t need rear speakers in the Z, and you would never want to play the OEM speakers (they are junk).
When you can spend more $$’s; get an external amp, quality front components, and a SubW.
