Default Pics of my new audio install

Let me know what you guys think, I did everything my self and it was the first time, Im happy with the work. The list is: Phatmat extreme, cant remember what type of cell foam I put down over the Phatmat (I think Ensolite) one JL 500/1 and one JL 300/2 for my two JL ZR components that are mounted in Wicked CAS door pods with a JL 10W7 in a Zenenclosure box in the rear, I went with the Pioneer Avic z2 for my head unit I really enjoy the features. It sounds great!

Looks nice (especially the good job on the door pods), but I have to ask why you leave the amps and the ugly wires exposed when you can easily hide this in any one of the generously-sized cubbies in your Z?

The sound is amazing! Inside the car it is clear and crisp, the components I used seem to have a awesome range of sound and the w7 just sounds so tight. I do have some nasty rattles around the rear bumper and left rear quarter panel, I just cant seem to figure out what is rattling and I used close to 85 sq ft of sound deadening materiel. Over all though I am very happy and I love the amp rack that came with my enclose. The only down fall is all the sound deadening materiel raised the floor slightly so I cant fit the OEM carpet under the sub enclosure. I will have to fabricate something to cover the spare tire.

How could I hide them, if I flipped the amps up side down but I think that would look worse then having the wires exposed. Only way to really hide the wires would to build covers and I don't know how to do that.

I think he was referring to the stock Bose sub location or the passenger side compartment.

^^ You understand.

I would never mount amps where I showed the "ugly" wiring. It''s OK to show/display the amps, but not like the pics here. For sure the ugly wires should not show.

I put my amps in the stock sub location. I don't mind not being able to show them off especially because anywhere else that I would put them would be highly visible to thieves.

Very nice install & the use of the phatmat is very nice. Taking cues from your install I am going to add more sound deadening materail on my install.

Doug: did you buy your wires from JL Audio? I hear they sell very good wires.

OP: nice setup! Don't mind the JL bashing around here: most people one these forums don't have a problem with the quality of JL Audio, per se, but many feel that JL Audio's products are overpriced.

Is that 500/1 giving your 10W7 enough juice to give good SQ?

Nice install, clean, no frills. +1 on the hiding of the amps in a cubby though but I've seen people go both ways. My personal pref is for hiding and going as stealth as possible. I like the full on approach for the sound deadening. I've not done my hatch area yet, just the floor pan forward of the hatch and the doors.
