Should just plug into harness to utilize bose amp/speakers. If I am wrong I need to know ASAP because I will be doing this install within a month with the f90bt using stock blose amp/speakers.

Can I ask you how you got the Metra kit to fit that well?

I'm installing my f900bt and it seems askew in the double din bezel. To specify, there is a sizable gap between the bottom of the unit and the top of the lower bezel.

Maybe I mounted it wrong?

There was a small gap on mine out of the car, and I was concerned, but in the car because there isn't light behind the head unit, it didn't look out of place. Just try to get the gap to be even all the way around.

The bypass is pretty simple, but more complicated than most. The F series units use the GPS to tell if you are moving, as well as the E-brake ground wire. If you ground the e-brake wire, and move the un-used mute wire (pin and all) to the correct pin spot on the harness, you end up with a unit that lets you in settings at all times.

Thanks. I finished my install this morning and the result was exactly as you described...the gap is not very visible because there is no backlight shining through.

However, I did notice from some angles a slight gap between the bottom of the Metra kit and the dash. Nothing too serious though...will be filled easily.

Once again, nice install!

Ok, basically, on the harness there is a mute wire that no one uses (that I found at least). You can pull that wire from the harness, its located in the pin labelled "1" in that chart. You put it in the spot labelled "2" and ground the other end (along with the green "parking brake" wire).

The picture at the top is how the harness plug will look when done, bottom is how it looks BEFORE the bypass.

I am installing a AVIC F900bt 2.0 next weekend - is there anything I should know about mounting? Does the Metra kit fit the best? Im also installing 2 JL amps and front JL 6.5s do they fit rite in or do they need a spacer?

Wiring harness adapter and dash kit.

I recommend that you run your wires somewhere that you can get to them easier (buy RCA cables and such if you ever plan to run amps, etc.) and not have to pull the head unit again. Its hard enough to get out and back in that its worth it have the ease of upgrade later.

Ok so i plan on buying the Pioneer AVHP4000DVD. I am also getting the sirius Pioneer CD-SB10 and SIRIUS SCC1 SIRIUS for satellite radio. The steering wheel controls, the ipod cable. A fellow user will sell me a wire harness and dash kit. Is there anything else i need to install this with sat radio. I plan on doing the bypass as well!
