NEW AUDIO INSTALL AVIC-F700BT ... pics
I just recently upgraded to the Pioneer AVIC-F700BT and i love it. I never installed a radio in a car before and i wanted to try it with this one. I looked up all the install guides on here and the wiki and thought it was going to be a breeze, well without those i wouldnt of been able to do it, so thanks. The unit looks OEM with my blue conversion bc all of the lights in the whole car now match perfectly.
So anyway i got to work, i got a little nervous when i had to drill holes for the mount but it came out flawless, then i had to run a wire all the way to the rear reverse light and had to drill a hole thru the trunk to sneak the wire (that was a little nerve wrecking). The hardest part of it all was trying to stuff all the wires in. (its alot easier with an extra hand, esp when your trying to screw in the 2 ground wires).
After it was all done i had my brother turn to key to see if it worked and it did!!, i was extremely happy i didnt mess anything up. GPS worked perfect, bluetooth was great, and ipod is nice.
By the way i custom ran the ipod wire and cut out a hole in the console in the armrest so i never have to take my ipod out and you dont see 1 wire.
im in the process of taking all that nasty felt out of the center console, so there will be pics of it soon.
(does anyone know a good place to get cloth and a good spray adhesive to refinish the console)
OK this is for everyone asking what other things you will need with this install.

Dl the new firmware for it, it will make it boot faster, and help the BT. Also its a lot easier if you bypass it prior to installing (moving mute wire to an additional plug) so you only have to ground the reverse, and mute, instead of runnign it back.

wow, looks awesome! im actually looking to get the same headunit.
did you just buy the headunit, harness, and dashkit? im thinking about buying the easy plug-and-play harness (dont really care for the bypass), but i dont know if that works with this unit of not. are you running stock speakers also?
much appreciated if you could answer the couple questions
