Wiring Questions
Well I'm at work and I need to order the wiring for my install next weekend -- if I don't get it ordered this AM, I'm not likely to get the stuff deleivered before Saturday.
And here's the studpid part: I didn't do any measuring for the wiring last night, while I was putzing around with getting the amp rack built -- DUHP!!
Here's my plan -- plese feel free to jump in with opinions/suggestions.
I'm going to run 0 gauge power wire (110 amp fuse within 1' of the battery) along the passenger side and into the amps that are sitting behind the driver's seat, in the RHD glovebox location. Anybody know how long that run is? I know 0 gauge is overkill, but I may eventually upgrade the amps and I don't want to have to rewire. Distro block splitting that down to two short 4 gauge runs to the amps (JL audio 450/4 and 500/1).
I've seen some people reccommending a fused distro block. If the power wire is properly fused up close to he pabbetery, why fuse at the distro block?
Is a grounding distrobution block needed? It sounds like with 2 amps I can either ground them seperatly, or ground both to the same part of the car.
RCA cables -- easier to run along the driver's side, or should I run them down the middle? Anybody have lengths for those options, going to the driver's side glovebox location?
Speaker wire from the driver's glovebox, along the driver's side, into the door on that side and around dash to passenger side door. I'm not concerned about the length those runs: I'll by a big spool of twisted pair speaker wire: I can always use more speaker wire around the house anyway. Suggestions on speaker wire gauge?
Other than a battery connector and connectors for each section of power cable -- and a handful of cable ties -- am I missing anything?

Check this kit out: Knukonceptz. I used their 4 gauge kit, and have more than enough power and ground wire. I also put my amps behind the driver's seat.
If you look around their site, you can also find the fused distro block.
