Default cant find a good amp

Im looking for a good mono sub amp to run between 350-400 RMS @ 2ohm and 700-800 RMS @ 1ohm (in case I decide to go with two subs). I know sub amps are different than regular amps, and don't know which ones are good/bad. I want something really nice and clean. suggestions please. thanks.

unfortunately every person who replies in this thread will probably suggest a different brand so i'm not sure that will be TOO much help for you... but i'll throw my hat in the ring...

i have had nothing but great experiences with kicker amps. they aren't the best looking by any stretch but i don't think you can find a more solid amplifier. kicker has always treated me right too. i had a kx600.1 mono amp in my maxima and the ground wire came loose and the amp fried itself. it was totally my fault, and the amp was outside of warranty. i called kicker and asked them about it. they said to send it in. two weeks later there was a brand new amp on my doorstep! great customer service and because of that i've bought three more since!

another thing i like about the kicker amps is that kicker seriously underrates them from the factory. every single amp is tested and comes with a birthsheet. at the very minimum it will test for what it is rated at but for example my 600.1 tested at 760 watts and i have a 300.2 in my room right now that tested at 420!

if i was you i'd go with the kx600.1. sounds like it will put out the numbers you're looking for.

btw - i have no affiliation with kicker whatsoever.... just a really satisfied customer and when a company treats me right i feel the need to promote them since it doesn't happen too often.

just a note.. everyone seems to say that the amps they are using are underrated.. of course they are... amps must AT LEAST meet the advertised power output.. any quality amp will be tested at the end of the production and must meet or exceed the specified amount.. so MOST good amps will put out more power than the box states due to varients in electronic components and the allowed tolerance.

i believe he was asking for a specific amp also, i threw in what i thought was good..

kicker is good, jl, jbl, etc... the list goes on.

Zapco digital amps ...... or linear digital amps... both pretty powerfull and fairly clean they are d-class amps so I believe they won't be as clean as xtant or macintosh, but they do run very cool in my experience.

ok, in light of me realizing how much I am confused, I will start over with this question...

OK, heres my dilemna. I am going to buy two Infinity Perfect 10.1d subs within the next week. Since they are DVC, I can wire them to either 2ohm or 8ohm each. They run 350RMS per sub. I need an amp to run these bad boys, any suggestions? I was thinking either a 2-channel to run them seperately @ 2ohms each, or get the 8ohms and wire them in series down to 4ohms and get a mono amp... I thought about wiring them down to 1ohm but that would be too low for my alternator. Any suggestions? I hope I didn't confuse anyone but myself...
