Default AVIC-D3 Navi Problem (Facing Wrong Direction...)

So I have recently been noticing that the navigation on my Avic d3 isn't working how it should. The arrow that points in the direction that I should be driving always seems to be slowly changing directions.
The "arrow" moves the correct way on the road and in the correct direction, but sometimes the arrow will be pointing sideways, or sometimes backwards, and when it points backwards, the computer assumed I am heading that way and laggs terribly!!!
I have no idea what the problem could be???
Anyone care to chime in? It is bugging the hell out of me!! I hate having to modify my current location 3-4 times during each trip just so I am facing the right direction.
Any help is greatly appreciated, Thanks!

Check here: http://www.avic411.com

My guess would be something dealing with your gps antenna, possibly bad location/signal, but if it worked fine previously that wouldn't make sense.

I have the same problem right now with my D2 which also provides my XM radio signal. According to the D2, the signal levels are good for both the XM antenna and NAV antenna. When I get some time I'm going to tear my Z apart again and rewire the NAV antenna to the same place I have my XM radio antenna, which is inside the rear strut bar cover (do an antenna on either side). My NAV antenna is currently inside my dash near the 3 gauge cluster and worked perfectly for months, I think it may have just been turned sideways by accident but we'll see.

Let me know how that goes. My antenna is currently on the magnetic sheet on the passenger side corner of my dash.

On the Navi Screen do you see a East West North South icon?

Yes i do have the icon, but all that does is change the map to either, the direction your car is heading, or facing north... or am I missing something??

How is the signal strength? You can check this in the GPS system settings. If it is very poor you may need to relocate your antenna. Outside is optimal if you can do it.

it might have to do with the wire attached to the reverse light, i have a f700bt and i had to attach a lead from the unit to one of my reverse lights so the avic knows when im going foward or backwards, maybe that came losose or something ... just a guess

The signal strength is showing 3 bars along with 7 satellite symbols. It is also saying that the surface the antenna is located on has a lot of vibration... Any ideas?

3 bars is not much. Can you try and relocate the antenna temporarily? Do a test to see if it works elsewhere.

I'll try. It sounds like there is something sliding around inside the passenger dash when I take turns... I have a feeling that it's something that has to do with the GPS. Now I just gotta figure out how to take the passenger side dash apart.....

Does anyone who has the D3 installed know if there is some sort of "box" that came with the HU? If so, where did you have it installed/mounted? I believe that is what is sliding around in my dash and also the reason for the direction change...

hmmm, no bluetooth. I'm stumped as to why everytime I take a turn something slides left and right. And the arrow starts facing some other random direction other than where i'm actually going...
