In the setting on the NAVI menu there is a manual adjustment setting that will allow you to pinpoint your setting exactly. When you fire it up it makes an assumption as to your location. I assume that it shows you roughly where you are (your street etc). In the menu (my car is in storage so I can tell you exactly) you will find a setting deep in there that allows you to manually adjust your position.
Find that and adjust your position to exactly where you are and what way you are facing. I had to do this as well. When I got my Nav unit it thought i was in NJ at first and facing the wrong direction. Once I got that sorted out it was all good.
Sorry thats not super accurate but should give you some idea.

Problem is, once he sets that, it jumps back to the wrong direction right away after it has been set. I had this very problem with my Z2 and a software update solved that and a few other issues I was having. www.avic411 is the place to check for software updates if there are any for the D3.

1) Twist shift **** off counter-clockwise
2) Pull the shift boot assembly up and disconnect the plugs on the underside (this just makes it easier). Dsconnect the ribbon cable too.
3) Remove two screws from the bottom of the dash bezel. These are exposed once you remove the lower shift boot/console assemlby
4) Pop out the panel below the cubby above the radio. You may need a swizzle-stick or plastic panel remover so you don't scratch anything
5) Remove the two screws that are now exposed under that panel you just removed
6) Gently pull the upper dash bezel assembly out towards you. You may need to pry at the bottom to start it off...then work you way up on either side. Disconnect the guage plugs at the top of the bezel. You may need some help from a flat head for this.
7) Remove the deck. Two screws near the top of the deck and two at the bottom. Remove the screws holding the white heater control module under the deck. You will need to pull this forward slightly to be able to pull the deck cage out.
Thats pretty much it...its going from memory from a couple of months ago but should be correct. Take a look around the deck to see if anything is loose before yanking the deck out.
Good luck!

So I took out the deck and everything seems to be tight and intact... It seems as if the sliding noise I keep hearing is coming from the empty space above the passenger feet area where a glovebox usually is in other cars... Any idea how to get into that space?? Thanks
