Have you tried a different Ipod? Have you tried resetting your Ipod? Sometimes they get 'stuck'. If I remember correctly you need to press the menu button and the play button at the same time for like 10 seconds or more.

You could also try resetting the deck. I think there is a small reset button that you can press near the volume **** on the face of the deck. Use the tip of a pen to press this button.

If neither of them work you need to try another Ipod. If another Ipod works then your Ipod is pooched. If another Ipod doesn't work...warranty the deck time!

I had this same problem with the unit in my Z. I had to buy a new Pioneer iPod cable (my old one went bad) and reset my iPod, and it started working fine after that.

wow good to hear, i thought of that to because occasionally it would work and then it would, i don think its the deck itself because the DVD,radio, work fine, except for the connection with the ipod, thanks for the help, hopefully itll work, because i bought the unit mainly for the ipod and its pissing me off having to deal with the problem

hey burner where did you buy the old connector and the new one, because i bought the one that i have now off ebay for pretty cheap so i think that has to do with it, this time i bought it from a different seller for a more expensive price
