Cool Alpine HU Install

I have an Alpine Headunit, I read howto take the dash off, but behind the dash there is
(1) Antenna Plug
and two white plugs...
well...
On my alpine there is only one large white one...
Do I plug the two white ones into the large one?

What else do I need to hookup?

Once that crap factory radio is out, how do I install the metra kit?
Could someone take a minute to explain this to me?!

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it,
The Forum is amazing!

the big white one from the factory has the necessary wires you need to hook up the power, ground, illumination, plus a couple other speaker wires...the small one just contains all speaker wires to the rest of the car. If you buy a wiring harness, then you would connect the wiring harness to your alpine harness...and it would directly plug into the factory wiring. But a wiring harness for your car...basically find one for 95+ Nissan...and you'll see what i mean...all the wires are labeled on the harness...hope it helps

as for the metra kit, it should come with instructions on how to mount the bracket and such.

hope it helps

the above is assuming you want to retain all the stock speakers and just install head unit.

For the Alpine you can buy two harnesses and you will not have to splice any wires....just snap and snap and your done.

Alpine HU to Generic <--> Generic to Nissan

You local Circuit City or Best Buy will have both of these.

I have seen this reply in a couple other posts, but I did not have to buy TWO extra harnesses. There is one harness that comes with the Head Unit (every head unit, unless its stolen ;-) ... and then I got ONE harness for "02+ Nissan" and connected it to the Alpine harness.

Less work, cleaner install.

(oh, I installed the Alpine CDA-9815, btw...)
