I think its negative signal and the unlock wire requires a double pulse

also don't know what year your z is...but on my 03 I had to go into the door for the lock wires...and get it right at the lock module...don't know if its the same for later years

let me know if you need anymore help..just did mine a week ago

ok so i still cant get it to work...
this is how i have it wired up..
red at door goes to a triggered ground that locks
blue at does goes to a triggered ground that unlocks

however i am having no luck getting it to work...

if i just ground the red wire it will lock right away
same goes for the blue wire..

however w/ the alarm set up when i hit the lock/unlock on the door it always trys to lock it..

what kind of alarm are you putting in?

did you meter the lock wires to make sure that the alarm is sending out a negative pulse?

also certain alarms don't send a strong enough signal to trigger the lock module..you might have to hook up a relay to increase the signal strength...

did you figure how to run the wires through the door..or still need help?

so as a conclusion the clifford avantguard install instructions suck severely..

they have this double pule wire coming out of the system but did not say how.

we were able to tap into both the ground for the lock and unlock. and then had to take off the door panel and then route it through the factory harness. ultimately drilled the plastic connectors to allow it to pass through for a seamless install..

at this point we are now just soldering all the connections and buttoning her up ...

glad to hear...usually you have to activate the double pulse in the unlock wire..u can do that with the valet button...or easier method use the bit writer if you have one...let me know if you have any more ??'s
