Radar Detector
i was just wondering which radar detector i shoudl buy...... black friday is tomorow so i was thinking of picking one up because ive gotten 3 tickets in the past 3 months so im not very happy and think a detector could help..... any suggestions will b apreciated

Skip radar, go straight to Escort laser jammers. Great tool.
Honesty, Radar won't save you man. Just keep your eyes peeled, become familiar with the roads you travel, and familiar with places where cops may lurk. Always look for signs that say "No Turns" or have the No U-Turn symbol. Breaks in the guardrail or foliage.

I own both.
If most of your driving is in the city and you don't like falses, get the 9500.
If most of your driving is on the highway, or if you don't mind falses in the city, get the V1.
I run the 9500 in my work van, and the V1 in my Z.
Both of them can pick up cops running radar from great distances on straights, (2-3 miles or more) and even give you plenty of time to slow down when the cops get sneaky and hide behind hills and turns. But the V1 is a little more sensitive than the 9500 on radar, and it's the only detector that gives you any chance of being saved from laser by detecting when a car in front of you is shot. (Although I would get a jammer if laser is a threat in your area.)

Ive been using the escort solo s2 for the last 4 years. I havent gotten a speeding ticket since. It picks up so far in advance that you think its a false alarm and then you see the douche bags hiding behind some bushes, by that time you are going the speed limit.

I have had great experiences with Beltronics; both with performance as well as support. I currently have the Vector 995 and the RX65 Pro. I have also owned the Escort Solo unit (for my old motorcycle) but prefer the Beltronics brand mainly because the great customer service that was given when one of my detectors became inop.
Someone mentioned earlier that non velentine 1 detectors cannot truly detect radar from the rear. This is incorrect with both the Escort and Beltronics brands. Both do have a single antenna but it is a bi-deirectional antenna which does detect both front and rear radar.
Both the Vector 995 and the RX65 Pro are very sensitive but the difference that I have found is that the RX65 Pro seems to have better filtering when in comes to false hits. With that said, I keep the 995 in my Tundra quad cab and my RX65 in my Z.

I've heard the V1 is the best there is out there, on this forum and various others.
I personally dont own one, but I did just get a Cobra XRS-9400 for free today, I'm not too sure how well it'll work, but I didnt spend a cent on it so I'll figure it out.

I can't speak for other detectors, but, my Beltronics Vector 995 will give continuous laser alerts anytime I'm near an airport. Sometimes it gets so irritating I have to turn it off till I get out of range. Other than that it has been a very good detector and over the years I have lost count of the times it has alerted me in time to get slowed down. It will also pick up radar behind me.

I've been hit with laser probably less than 10 times, we as I've been hit with radar thousands of times.
I've had my laser jammers work before and it saved me from a hefty ticket, but I would definitely get a radar detector first. Both of the two options are great.

Do some research before you say skip radar. Radar is still used and it has saved me many times. On my way to SEMA VEGAS from SoCal my radar was going off every 20 mins. Other states besides Nevada and california still use radar also including the west central and east coast so radar IS NOT something to just SKIP.
