just ordered the KIT, paul says it will be a week or 2. It was $17.95 for kit, $15 to dye, the total with shipping was $35.
Paul was very helpful and friendly, I highly recommend his services, he was able to answer some other ?s I had and was very polite.

Actually, StreetNoyz is in San Diego, within 1 mile of the sports arena. I live in Oceanside and since I recommended it to Rod, I think he thought it was in Oceanside where I live.
Mods, would you consider this thread for a sticky in the a/v forum? Once again, zland has done us all a great favor here. Think he should get some credit for it. I have already bought the Metra kit, but seeing his American Standard kit, I'm returning that hunk o' junk and I've already ordered the NDK740 from Buy.com for $10.50. Thanks zland!
JDM Z uses a single DIN HU. The JDM single DIN stereo finisher with pocket is by far the best looking kit I've seen (after all it is factory).
Someone on this site has one that he said got through japanparts.com. I wish I could find the post. I e-mailed them, but haven't gotten a response yet.
As far as color matching your kits...Plasti Kote Bumper Color is a perfect match and is VERY durable.

Hmm, did you email Buy.com and ask them? I've gotten my kit in now and I must say, it's even better than the pictures I'd seen. Quality is A1. Fits like a glove. One of the only plastic kits I've ever seen that allows you to iso-mount your stereo for that flush-mount look. I looked on their website and couldn't find anything in their policies that said they didn't ship internationally, just that their flat-rate shipping didn't apply internationally. I bet if you email'd them, they'd get you what you need. Good luck!
thats good to hear that it looks good
buy.com dont accept international credit cards
a wire transfer is going to make it more expencive
if i have no other way to get it, i will do it that way...
thanks

Only one stood out it was with this radio by SOny Sony WX-7700MDX supposedly created for the 350z worth a $750.00 pricetag. Even this one isn't perfect, but it's color matched to the interior lighting.

I have a 1 week old 2005 Enthusiast model Z and I really want an in dash player that can do MP3's like my 2005 GMC Canyon truck has.
I have never been one for compressed music but a car is not an ideal listening envrionment anyway and I have gotten really spoiled with the MP3 player in my truck.
I make one disk that I can just leave in the player and I have HOURS of music. No more dealing with discs all over the seat.
Anyway to the point:
I am going to have CC install an MP3 capable CD player (not picked one out yet) and the fellow said that radio install is free but all they have is the 2003 Metra dash mounting kit in their catalog which has no picture.
He was quite willing to let me bring whatever mounting kit I wanted and they would use it.
My problem is that I can not find any good pictures that show what the Metra (or any for that matter) dash mounting kits looks like in a Z.
I REALLY want a factory look so can anyone be so kind as to recommend the best fitting dash kit as well as a company that will paint it to match the dash in my car?
Real pictures of it would be greatly appreciated.
I have a Red Enthusiast model with the standard charcoal interior and the dash lights have a reddish yellow (orange) tint to them.
I mention the light's color in case someone can recommend an MP3 player that does not cost and arm and a leg that matches as well.
The word here is subtle.
Thanks for any help.

I had both and the Metra sucks - the American Internation was half the price and twice the product.

This is the worse picture I can find of the AI one I installed. Nice and strong and a perfect size fit. The inside of the pocket is all shiny.

Thanks for the reply. I did find a company that uses the AI for their installs and as you can see from the picture, I had it done.
I am not 100% happy though because it still has that aftermarket look to it.
If there was some kind of trim ring around the radio, I bet it would look factory but there is no such beast that either I could find or afford.
All I wanted was MP3 capability (been using my FM modulated MP3 Player) and did not want to spend a bunch. It is an Alpine
How do you think it looks?
The picture is slighty canted because even though I took 10 shots , I chose this one as it was what I wanted to convey but I was at a wierd angle when I took it.

Thanks - I needed someone else's opinion on how it looked to help me decide whether to go back to Tweeter's to see if another player would fit better.
It stays.
I have found this board to be full of folks who are not shy about their opinions so I am all set with this particular project.
