I have a 2007 touring roadster (7 speaker Bose). I am wondering how much better some speaker upgrades would be. The radio quality is a little iffy, but when I put a CD in, it sounds pretty good. Will some new speakers make that much of a difference?

i've also been considering adding some speakers and amps but leaving the factory head unit, mainly because the factory unit provides a lot of functionality that i would like to keep (integrated bluetooth, satellite radio, wheel controls, in-dash changer) and swapping out the HU and keeping all of these features requires adapters for everything and new antennas to be wired, and in some cases i dont think there is any way to keep some of the functionality (like answering and ending calls from the steering wheel).

PAC makes an adapter that converts the factory harness to standard RCA plugs so it can easily be wired to an external amplifier, but i really haven't been able to find much on how such a setup might sound.

 

stock bose is absolutely terrible. yes new speakers "with amps" will make a hell of a difference.
