Default TV screens larger than 7" in dash

I want to fit something larger then the 7" TV screen in my cubby. I am planning to run the Haltech software with gauges on the screen and I would like to have them large and easily readable. So who here has installed a larger one, mabe a 9" screen? What kind of modifications are needed. Is it really detailed to mount it up. Im thinking that there is going to have to be some cutting, shaping and what not.
