Default 2 Amp Enough? Or Buy Larger one?

I have 2 JL 500/1 Amps.. and (3) JL 10w6v2's.. Can you wire these so it pushes them to their FULL potential? Or would I need to just buy a JL 1000/1 ?

Yeah, I don't understand the question. Wire them 'so it pushes them to their FULL potential'.

What deck, speakers and what size power wire are you running?

I mean.. I have 3 JL 10w6v2... I dont know much about wiring the amps.. But will 2 500/1 JL amps be able to push these subs to their full potential? ( I just dont whether or not you can split 2 amp into 3 subs.... basically )

deck = avic-d3

speakers.. idk yet.. but i have a jl 300/4v2 to push components..

*doh

Each 10W6 is DVC, meant to handle about 600 Watts RMS each. Luckily, the 500/1 will adjust itself to any impedance, and each should be ideal for a 10W6. But, you've got three subs, and only two amps. Buying a 1000/1 would be the wrong way to go. Instead, buy ANOTHER 500/1. Simple as that. But man, that's a lot of power for a 350Z.

Actually he can push three with one 500/1 or one 1000/1 @ 2.67 ohms which is more than safe for the amp. Look at the '3 DVC drivers with Voice Coils in Series / Parallel' diagram:

http://mobile.jlaudio.com/support_pages.php?page_id=161

Can't really do two 500/1's unless they are strappable (which I am quite sure they are not).

I would go with 1 1000/1

There is a guy on g35driver that's selling it for $400 I believe.

400$ ?

another quick question.. When buying a used amp.. is there any way to tell if its broken/not working properly? Other than looking at its physical appearance/seeing lights turn on?

exactly. im glad i have backup on this by a reputable guy instead of getting undercut by a guy..... nevermind, im not going to bash on anyone

regardless, 1 500/1 will be good for those, each will still get 500 watts same as if you bought another 500/1 if you got the 1000/1 you would be cutting power down to 333.33 watts each because you would have to wire in series

ok.. well damn.. that sounds a little to good to be true.. 1 JL 500/1 for 3 JL10w6v2.. well def. wont complain.. but if anybody else has any opinions def. throw it out there!

also.. will i need a better alternator? extra battery? cap? I heard some of these suggestions from dopes i know around the area.. also.. what gauge wire should i use on everything? and does a large fry come with that? :}

+++ ANOTHER ? ... Will the Triple Enclosure by WickedCas withstand these 3 subs? Will it sound alright with this premade box... Would def. love for someone to answer me that question..

you need to find the volume of it and compare

your bat and alt is fine on 500 watts

Its very simple math my friend.
To power those 3X W6's with that 500/1 you will effectively be running 166.66 watts to each sub. This is barely enough power to make these things move nicely. Granted the 500/1 is a powerhouse and is underrated I still think the 1000/1 will do that set-up better 333.33 watts per sub as Adam pointed out. Because these amps are both 1.5-4 ohm stable and put out their numbers regardless of impedence load (1.5 - 4 ohms) you can only wire either amp one way. The way that I suggested in my last post.

At 1000 watts, I would upgrade the grounds from the battery and the power wire to your alternator if you want to avoid electrical issues.

Those subs will do just fine in that Wicked CAS enclosure.

Sorry, I edited that. Anyways, yes, these subs are power hogs. 1000/1 is your best bet.

Dude, you can't strap two 500/1's as I have stated before. Sell the other 500/1 and then get a 1000/1 - that is pretty much your only option unless you run three 500/1's - one per sub.
