Hey I just installed my new sony Xplod radio, using the metra din kit and I made the bad mistake of cutting the harness (I couldn't get the clips to come out and the old radio was broken soo ...snip snip). Well I tried to wire it up and I made all the connections except the speakers. The only one that seems to work is the front right speaker and its sound quality sucks. I can hear the music but you have to turn the volume to max to even hear it.

Its an 03 harness but I even ordered a crutchfield manual and the wiring diagram wasn't there

So being hasty I decided to just wire it up. Turned it on and it came on everything on the stereo is fine, I just can't get the speakers too work. If you have and 2003 wiring diagram or suggestions I would be grateful

 

Is it a bose or non bose? The wiring harnesses are different. Make sure you have the right harness. Also, did you use crimp type connectors or did you solder everything? I had the same issue when I installed my stereo and everything worked after I removed all wiring and soldered all the connections. Make sure all your wiring is right, color for color and the connections are solid. If everything seems fine maybe hang test your deck by applying power to it and hooking a speaker to each port on the harness to test the internal amplifiers on it.

Its a non bose system (sorry about not mentioning that), ya.....I soldered everything but its an easy fix not the end of the world. I just can't find the wiring diagrams anywhere. I will try the hang test idea and just work it out till everything matches up. Btw for the harness if your looking at it from the front of it, does the speaker wiring go left speakers on the left side and right speakers on the right side with the front on top and the rear on the bottom? this was my conclusion after thinking about it for a while. Ill get a pic if anyone needs it otherwise ill just fiddle with it, thanks.
