I have a 10'' JL W7 and also have the JL Slash amp at 500W

I know this is probably a stupid question, but on my AMP, i was wondering what the BOOST (dB) **** does. Does it boost the bass output in general? Or boost certain frequencies.

 

It will adjust your sub volume without changing the output of your components.

 

will it risk breakage of my sub?

 

depends if you have everything set up right.

IMHO boost=crap it distorts and often causes your amp to clip at high levels. i have the bass **** and it always stays at 0 boost unless its a bad recording with the low end lacking... and even then its only on like 2
