Good afternoon,
So I have in the middle of installing my new stereo system and I plan on doing the head unit tonight. I have a JVC unit with the Metra mounting kit. Neither the JVC unit or the Metra kit come with the screws I need to bind the unit to the kit. The JVC unit has holes for M5x8mm screws. Was the Metra kit supposed to come with screws? When I remove the stock unit will there be screws that I can re-use? Just curious because I do not want to pull the dash apart and then find out later that I must purchase the screws. Thanks.

The JVC unti called for M5-6mm screws. It said anything longer than M5-8mm would short the unit. I went to the hardware store and picked up a few different sizes (flathead recessed). After removing the stock radio I realized that it had the right screws already, but they were not recessed. So, I used the ones I bought. Everything turned out peachy. Thanks for the advice. For those that look at the JVC 9350, you can use the stock screws off the stock radio and the unit will not power up until you plug in the antenna (needed for a second ground).
