Default Antenna Broke, NEED HELP

hey guys, i was at the carwash, and the machine broke off my antenna and left the metal male in the female adapter of the antenna. i tried tappin it out and only messed it up, and the carwash wont pay to fix it...and now im looking for the name of that piece. for some apparent reason when i went to Nissan they told me it would cost $200 because i would need the whole antenna assemby

if anyone can help me out and tell me where i can get the lil metal piece the antenna screws into, and has the male adapter that clips into the female part for the antenna in the back?

I cant say for sure but I would think that the 350z's antenna threads would be the same as alot of vehicles. Try any local auto parts stores for cheap aftermarket antenna kits, even walmart or canadian tire. the kits usually have a wide range of different adapter studs that will fit many different vehicles. Also you might want to try your local auto wrecker, chances are that if there is a z in there that wasnt flipped over in a crash that the antenna part you need would be fine and probably cheap.

i say get yourself a 4" stubby antenna off of ebay for ~$13 shipped, includes the thread piece connectors and you have the added benefit of getting rid of the absurdly long stock antenna.

I think that's the part that's stuck though. He may need the entire assembly if he can't tap it.

DUDE, the dealer told me it would cost 229.99 for the part i need, plus labor...and that means i have to bring my car to the dealer and wait like 2 hrs for them to do it, as oppose to me ordering it online for 159.99 and doing it my self.....the cheap easy way.

i found it online for 159 but i still cant believe how its so much. oh well, uncle sam owes me some money so i guess ill just buy it when i get it, my trunk is gutted so it will take me 2 min to replace.

I had this happen to me. I took the assembly out of the car and fixed it myself. Its really easy you just need to remove some plastic pieces in the hatch. I took the piece out and put it in a vice then drilled out the broken threaded part. I figured I would have to re-cut it with a die, but I didn't even have to. It took me less than an hour and saved me $159.
