Default New Sub Install

Trying to get a 10" sub in the space behing the driver's seat is a major pain in the ***. I went with Polk new 8" Momo Sub and it sounds great. I have a Kenwood KAC-X650D 5 Channel Amp powering the Sub and the new Infinity Kappas I put in the front and back. I also went with a new JVC Arsenal KD-LH3150 headunit along with the Stainless steel face plate that a bunch of people on my350z went with. The whole system just booms and I don't think I need the 10" sub as the 8" gives me quite a kick. Here are the picks.

Nice Sub! How much did that setup end up costing you?

How is the sub mounted ? Did you have to build a box for it ? When you crank it up does it rattle ? I use to have a 8" Kicker SoloBaric sub and it rattle when I crank it up.

Sub cost $85 bucks and the box was made from MDF Board from home depot for about $10 including sealer. I have no rattle as I siliconed the areas where the MDF board is mounted to the metal.

i have an 10 rockford HX2 sub, but i'm wondering how i'm going to make it fit. THe circle is too big for the sub's wholes to fit and the area inside is too large for the sub.

I set up my box so that it would fit in easily and would match the volume that was specified by Polk Audio. If your box is to big or to small your speaker will not sound good. Here is the link to the speaker volume calculator program I used. I used a table saw, drill, screws, silicoln sealer, to build this.
