Default Different Perspective Opinions Please

Hello All,

I am a new member and would like an opinion on my idea.

I have done a search and haven’t found a clear answer so here we go.

What I need:
-A set up that will go into stock speaker locations and amp in glove compartment (having custom boxes etc is out of question, my car would get broken into right away)

-Clear sound and more bass

-I listen to music medium, sometimes loud (lol) , I don’t blast it but I enjoy louder tone.

-do not need a top of the line system , just a quality upgrade

Given that, I am considering this setup:

-A new Double Din deck ( I do not want a screen, I don’t watch movies, and I have a tom tom that fits well into the stock compartment)

-Component Speakers for the front ( something around $150 ) to play MID and HIGHS

-I was thinking about putting 6.5 inch subwoofers in the stock enclosures behind the seats , a free air set up (from what I understand you don’t get much music from the speakers anyways so I thought about using those to get bass only)

-Amp to power the speakers, maybe like a W100 RMS x 4 channels or something like 75RMS 4 channels , and ill would bridge the bass in back.

Or should I just get components front , and 2 ways in the back and amp all 4 speakers?

I really dont want to spend money on a set up that wont work.

I appreciate your comments and if you can avise me on what brand to use that would be great.

ROb

It looks like your just looking for moderate bass inside the car. I installed a 100 watt amplified bazooka bass tube right in the back of the hatch near the seats and under the z bar. I haven't replaced the speakers because they are fine for what i want. You can't even see the setup with the bass tube either so no worries about thieves.

Rear 'subs' in stock speaker locations:
CDT M6

Amp in glovebox:
Eclipse XA4200

Headunit without screen:
Kenwood DPX503

All together about $1050 (installation materials extra)

You are going to need to damp and seal off the inside of the rear speaker locations, prefereably with a custom fiberglass enclosure. Next best would be to layer damping sheets to form a sealed type of enclosure. You may even find it beneficial to throw a handful or two of fiber fill in each enclosure. If sealed properly, those CDT M6's will sound pretty nice. Just don't expect them to sound like a 10" or 12" sub.
