Default help on a bolt

I was trying to remove my passenger door interior door panels today and ran into a problem. One of the bolts that was holding the door handle on the passenger side just would not come out. I tried to unscrew it, it would turn, but would not come out. I think the previous owner had the panel removed. What could be the problem with that bolt? Could the thread be stripped? If it's stripped, is there any tools I can use to remove it? If I can't remove the interior door panels, that means I won't be able to install aftermarket speakers, I guess the only other thing I can do is get a speaker in a custom kick panel. I really didn't want to install a kick panel and wanted to keep it stock looking. Thanks.

Not sure how you could get it out, but you could take it to a shop who specializes in speaker install and let them deal with the problem. They usually are good for having to replace something if they break it so if they do break something, at least it would be covered. I don't usually like taking my car to places to have something installed that I can do myself but I think that is the safest bet.

Its probably just turning in what it WAS threaded into. I.e. the panel itself is stripped out not the bolt. Is there anyway to get some vice grips on it so you can pull and turn at the same time? If worse comes to worse you could drill it out. Make sure you have the drill on a nice slow speed and ensure it is cutting (metal curly shavings will come up the bit) instead of just spinning in place. Oh ya a pic of said bolt would help also. G/L
