Default Is it possible to detach OEM Faceplate from my car Stereo Unit

I have a '04 and I want to detach & switch the front face plate on my OEM Clarion Bose radio, 6CD & Cassette player with a newer one.
Can this be detached with-out breaking anything?

Pretty easy to remove the faceplate. Remove the stereo and I believe the faceplate just clips onto the housing.

Some you guys are really f+++++g jerks.
Don't make any smart *** comments if you don't know what the f++k your talking about.

jtabraham...Yeah it clips on the unit....but it dosen't look that easy to detach.
...I've gotten more info & a guy from a audio place in Florida says it can be done but take it to a pro......it's very tricky!

Look man, why go through all the work and hassle? You can buy mine (almost brand new and the WHOLE UNIT) for 150 bucks. (yes Bose 6 disc)

Why not just get that? How much is the OEM faceplate from Nissan plus the work to take off plus the work to put on and in?

Oh, I thought you knew what a f++K you are talking about. If all we do is take our stuff to audio shops, bodyshops, mechanics, yes everybody knows where they are. Now you know the definition of a f+++++g jerk

The instructions on removal is easy......I did buy a whole unit for $65 but the front black face is scratched up in some places & mine is like brand new...it looks like it can be detached & replaced.

IIRC, it's not a simple or quick task.

I don't need or want to buy a unit from Nissan....to begin with they are way over priced!
Let me explain further....
My 6CD player is not working on my Bose unit but the front black face is in perfect condition...I went and bought a complete working used replacement to make the swap but the replacement front black face is scratched in several places and now I would like to know from someone if the front black face can be detached from my unit & put onto the replacement unit that I just bought....so far, some people say yes & some say no, it cannot be done! I'm still researching....
