Default question

i have a set of type R components that i will be using a amp for that will be in the front of my Z. i have laying around a set of type S's that i used in my last car. my question is can i run the front speakers off an amp with RCA's and the rear's just off the head unit by connecting them to the wiring harness? and is it true to remove the rear speaker covers you have to break it? thanks

Extra rear speakers cannot just be spliced into the wiring harness, if thats what you mean. ANY extra speakers besides the car's have to run off of an amp.

Skip the rear speakers, the distance between them and your ears is a lot shorter that the distance from your ears to your front speakers. Not to mention one being completely blocked by the drivers seat.

To get at the rear speakers you have to take all of the plastic interior pieces out of the rear from the strutbar to the console.

Simple answer - If you have the non-Bose audio system, yes, if that is what YOU want to do.

So basically you want to just replace the rear speakers?? Why the hell couldnt you do that?

Keep everything wired as is (in the harness) and just replace rear speakers and run your components of an amp.

I think your making this alot more difficult than it has to be.

Yes, you can connect the front preouts of your headunit to an amp for your front speakers and run the rears off of the power of the headunit.
Not everyone is looking for the perfect IASCA soundstaging I prefer, just don't put back all of the interior until you turn it up and see if you like it.
