2 speakers, one channel @ 2 ohms.... watts?
quick question, i forget my audio details, im going to order 2 8" subwoofers and my infinity amp can supply 300 watts @ 2 ohms. the subs are svc 4 ohm, so ill wire them in 2. question is, when you add another sub does the wattage needed double too?
if so, im getting the tang band's, 150 watts rms
http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=264-854
if not, ill get the dayton references that are 280 rms
http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=295-456
most of me wants to say the rules of resistance blah blah blah says the wattage stays the same, just the resistance changes, so that would mean that the daytons will work, but i dont want to take the chance that i need twice the power and and my amp wont push the "subz", thats the worse case scenario! thanks

Power is measured at a specific resistance.
150 watts @ 4 ohms
300 watts @ 2 ohms
Arithmetic allows you to decrease resistance to infinity increasing power to infinity. Unfortunately electronics does not work that way. At some point the amplifier will not handle the deceased load.

perfect, just want i wanted to know. the parts express guy tried to say the daytons could be powered just fine off of 300 watts, which is true to an extent, but i really dont want to use bass boost (since it defeats the purpose of buying 8's) and i prefer to over power my speakers with clean, non distorted power than underpowering and adding distortion. but what cought my attention is he said the tang bands would sound better in a vented .50 cf box, and im using a sealed so he said the daytons would be even better. plus, the daytons have less distortion. so know im wondering if the daytons are the way to go...

Maybe me or someone else could give you some guidance.....
Do you have an enclosure already or one in mind?
what is your budget?
What is the rest of your system?
What type of music do you listen to?
Where will these be mounted?
